DescriptionRibothymidine, also known as 5-methyl-uridine or thymine riboside, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as pyrimidine nucleosides. Pyrimidine nucleosides are compounds comprising a pyrimidine base attached to a ribosyl or deoxyribosyl moiety. Ribothymidine exists as a solid, possibly soluble (in water), and an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa) molecule. Ribothymidine exists in all living organisms, ranging from bacteria to humans.
